Three Ways Prevention Takes Shape
UNITY Prevention works through education for young people, professional development for adults and institutions, and place-based coordination through UNITY Networks. Each addresses a different point where earlier knowledge, stronger response, or better connections can reduce vulnerability to exploitation.

What Strong Prevention Requires
Readiness
Equipping institutions and professionals to respond with stronger prevention and coordinated support.
Infrastructure
Building trusted community-based systems that reduce vulnerability before harm deepens.
Our programs strengthen prevention at three levels: what young people know, how adults and institutions respond, and how communities connect people to support.
Three Ways We Work
LIGHTS
Prevention education for young people ages 11–18 that builds understanding of exploitation, manipulation, warning signs, and where to seek help.
Professional Development
Training and capacity-building for educators, schools, youth-serving organizations, public agencies, and other professionals responsible for recognizing and responding to risk.
UNITY Networks
Place-based prevention models that strengthen referral pathways, case coordination, and connections to specialized community services.
Survivor-Informed Across the Work

Survivor-informed support has shaped UNITAS from the beginning.
Through past intensives, UNITAS has centered dignity, healing, and long-term stability for survivors. That experience continues to inform UNITY Prevention’s approach to all of its programming.

Intervention remains part of the broader prevention ecosystem.
When concerns are identified, UNITY Prevention supports coordinated response by helping schools, organizations, and partners connect people to appropriate services and support.
